The Kinette Club of Calgary

2011 Adopt-a-family Program

The Kinette Club of Calgary is a volunteer service organization that has been serving the Calgary community since 1948.  The Adopt-a-Family program is operated entirely by volunteers. Referrals to the Kinette Club of Calgary’s Adopt-a-Family program come from counselors working in recognized social services agencies.  These clients are low income families ($12,000/year annual income), have not received a hamper in the past 3 years, and will not receive any other hamper during the holiday season.

2011 Adopt a Family Hamper Program

In 2011 we provided hampers to 179 families in Calgary; this is an increase of 49 families over our 2010 program!

A sincere thank you to all the donors who spent their time and resources to make Christmas easier for a family in need. This program is successful year-after-year because of the individuals, families, and companies who adopt families through our program. We would also like to send a big thank you to everyone who provided gift cards and "extra" gifts to the program - these are much needed and appreciated.

Finally, we would like to thank the "people power" that goes into making this program work. We have so many volunteers that come out to help with our drop-off and pick-up weekend, and we could not do this without them.
